Simulations and Analysis Engineer (Propulsion)

Sidereus Space Dynamics is at the forefront of revolutionizing space access through its pioneering reusable single-stage launch vehicles, tailored for ultra-responsive orbital access.  

We are seeking a skilled Space Propulsion Engineer with a strong background in simulations and analysis, specifically related to propulsion systems such as thrust chambers, pumps, and turbines. The ideal candidate will have experience in liquid propulsion systems and be proficient in guiding the fluidic analysis of various subsystems. This role involves performing both 1-2D model analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis using tools such as Ansys Fluent and OpenFOAM. Additional experience with MATLAB is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the analysis of propulsion systems, preferably liquid propulsion systems. 
  • Proficiency in Ansys Fluent and OpenFOAM for CFD analysis. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in 1-2D fluidic models. 
  • Familiarity with MATLAB for data analysis and model development. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 
  • Advanced proficiency in technical English, both written and spoken.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed fluidic analysis of propulsion subsystems, including thrust chambers, pumps, and turbines. 
  • Perform 1-2D model analysis and CFD simulations to assess and optimise the performance of propulsion components. 
  • Utilize Ansys Fluent and OpenFOAM for advanced CFD analysis. 
  • Interpret and analyse simulation results, providing actionable insights for design improvements. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate analysis findings into the overall propulsion system design and testing. 
  • Support the development and validation of propulsion system models. 
  • Stay current with advancements in propulsion system analysis techniques and tools. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with additional CFD tools and software. 
  • Knowledge of propulsion system testing and validation procedures. 
  • Familiarity with other programming languages and simulation tools. 

What We Offer:

For this role, we offer a starting salary range between €30,000 and €55,000, commensurate with your qualifications and experience. Our benefits package includes:
